Welcome to the official website of the Graduate Research Program "International Business Administration" (Government Gazette 1818/22-5-2018 T.B), organized at the Kavala Campus by the Department of Management Science and Technology of the School of Economics & Administration of the International Hellenic University (IHU). The Program has been operating since the academic year 2016-2017, in accordance with the provisions of Law 3685/2008 (Government Gazette 148, Section A'), as amended (Gazette Β’ 3551/ 23-9-2019 amended by Gazette Β’ 2163/ 4-5-2022) and (Gazette Β’ 3510/ 25-9-2022 amended by ΔΦ 2.1/26565/ 13-12-2022) and in force.
Object and Purpose of the Program
The subject of the program is the Administration of Businesses and Organizations with international orientation and aims to deepen and expand scientific knowledge, techniques and the promotion of research in the subject of Organization and Administration in conditions of a globalized economic environment.
The main purpose of the program is the comprehensive and in-depth approach to the parameters-factors that interpret the past, determine the present and predict the future of the long-term survival of SMEs and Organizations in conditions of uncertainty and high risk in the international economic environment. In this context the Program aspires to contribute to its students acquiring the theoretical knowledge necessary to interpret the complexity, structure and direction of strategic decisions that lead businesses and Organizations to competitive advantage and their long-term survival internationally. In addition, to equip themselves with the necessary scientific and methodological tools so that they are able to be members of the educational/scientific community of management science and especially that part of it that refers to the conditions of a globalized economy.
Individual objectives of the Program are:
- The promotion of knowledge in the specific subjects.
- The development of research in the related scientific areas of the Program.
- The production of scientists capable of pursuing an academic career.
- Meeting the needs at postgraduate level for trained business executives in the private and public sector.
- The provision of the necessary, high-level, knowledge for efficient and effective control of human and financial resources.
- The development of interest and understanding of the increasingly complex and dynamic international business environment.
Postgraduate degree
The Program awards a Postgraduate Diploma in Research (P.D.in R.) in "International Business Administration" and is equivalent to the Master of Philosophy (MPhil) granted by universities abroad (Europe, America and Australia).
Categories of candidates
In the Program, graduates from Universities and UoAS of the country are accepted in a related subject as well as graduates of recognized Universities from abroad.
Duration
The duration for the awarding of the Postgraduate Diploma of Research is set at two years, i.e. four (4) semesters of study, of which the first two are allocated to the teaching of the courses and the preparation of the master's thesis and the remaining two for the conducting of the master's thesis.
Curriculum
The Program is delivered in full-time. During their studies, postgraduate students are required to attend postgraduate courses, participate in laboratory exercises and conducting a master’s thesis.
The total number of program courses that postgraduate students must attend is ten (10): Five (5) compulsory core courses in the first semester corresponding to thirty (30) ECTS and five (5) compulsory core courses in the second semester corresponding to thirty (30) ECTS.
In the third and fourth semesters (second year), postgraduate students must conduct a Master's Thesis (research oriented), which corresponds to sixty (60) ECTS. One hundred and twenty (120) ECTS are required for obtaining the Postgraduate Diploma in Research (P.D.in R.) in "International Business Administration".
The Program is taught in the Greek language.
Number of Entrants
The number of admissions to Program is limited to a maximum of fifteen (15) students per year. In addition to the number of admissions, members of the assisting personnel are also accepted holding a title of the first cycle of University studies, in accordance with the provisions of article 34, paragraph 8 of law 4485/17.
Staff
In addition to faculty members of the Department of Management Science and Technology or other study programmes of International Hellenic University, faculty members from other Universities from Greece or abroad are able to participate in the teaching process, along with other categories of tutors / professors, in accordance with the provisions of no. 36 of Law 4485/2017.
Infrastructure
The existing infrastructure of the Department of Management Science and Technology and the IHU - Kavala campus, will cover the Program's operating needs (appropriate building infrastructure, library, audio-visual media, computers, laboratories, etc.).
Duration of operation
The Master's Program will operate until the academic year 2025-26, when the possibility of continuing its operation will be evaluated.
Tuition fees
The Postgraduate Program is free, with no tuition fees.
